GetWaitlist launch waitlist
Collect launch signups and let visitors share referral links through your GetWaitlist widget.
Connect your GetWaitlist waitlist to a promotional website. GetWaitlist handles signup records, verification, referral links and status according to your settings. Visitors can join without creating an Adaptar account.
Before you begin
- Create the waitlist in your GetWaitlist account.
- Set your published signup page as the Waitlist URL in GetWaitlist so referral links return to the right website.
- Configure the signup questions, branding, confirmation emails and referral rules you want in GetWaitlist.
Find your Waitlist ID
GetWaitlist's Widget Builder guide shows where to configure your widget. Its embed options reference identifies the data-waitlist_id value to copy.
- 01
Open the waitlist
In GetWaitlist, select the waitlist you want to connect and open Widget Builder.
- 02
Get the embed code
Choose Get Embed Code and find data-waitlist_id in the container.
- 03
Copy only the number
For data-waitlist_id="12345", the Waitlist ID is 12345. Use your own number; do not paste the whole code or an API key.
Add it in Adaptar
- 01
Open your project
Start from a generated website in the workspace, then open + → Site features.
- 02
Choose GetWaitlist
Open Contact, find GetWaitlist, and select Add to website.
- 03
Enter your settings
Fill in the fields below and select Add to website. Adaptar updates the website and checks the implementation. This uses normal generation credits.
- 04
Review and publish
Wait for the update to finish, review it in preview, then publish the verified revision. Test the provider's behaviour on the published page as well.
Configuration
| Setting | Required | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Waitlist ID | Yes | The positive number from data-waitlist_id in your embed code |
| Display style | No | Full form (default), Compact form, or Floating widget |
Full form appears within your page and supports additional questions. Compact form is an inline email-only signup. Floating widget uses GetWaitlist's docked presentation. Choose the format that fits your questions and page layout.
Test the result
- On the published page, submit a signup with an email address you control and complete any configured verification.
- Confirm the signup appears in the intended GetWaitlist dashboard.
- Open the returned referral link in a separate browser session. Confirm it returns to your published page and retains its referral parameter.
- Check the form and confirmation view on mobile. For a floating widget, check that it does not cover important buttons.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| The ID is rejected | Paste only the number, without a URL, spaces or the data-waitlist_id attribute. |
| Referrals open the wrong page | Update the Waitlist URL in GetWaitlist and test a newly generated referral link. |
| Extra questions are missing | Select Full form and check your questions in Widget Builder. |
| The widget does not load | Check your ID and provider settings, then try the published page without a content blocker. Use the fallback waitlist link to check the destination. |
Edit or remove the feature
To change the connected destination, reopen Site features, choose Update on the feature, change its settings, and select Update website. Review and publish the new revision. To remove it, choose Remove and confirm Remove feature, then publish the resulting revision.
Removing an embed from Adaptar does not delete its content, cancel a provider subscription, or disconnect accounts in the provider's dashboard. Changes made within the provider may appear without an Adaptar update; changing the public ID or link requires updating Adaptar too.
