Connect a custom domain
Give your published website an address you own, such as www.yourbusiness.com.
A custom domain lets visitors reach your published website at an address you own. Connect a domain such as www.yourbusiness.com and Adaptar handles the rest: verifying your DNS records and provisioning HTTPS automatically. Your adaptar.app address stays online alongside it.
Before you begin
- A domain you own, with access to its DNS settings at your registrar or hosting provider
- An active subscription
- A published website: custom domains attach to a finished, verified publication
Connect your domain
- 01
Open Publish
Open the Publish panel from your workspace and find the custom domain section.
- 02
Enter your domain
Enter the address you want to use, for example www.example.com. A subdomain with a DNS-only CNAME works best: root domains need a later setup option.
- 03
Connect
Choose Connect. Adaptar prepares your DNS records: you'll see the records you need to add.
- 04
Add the DNS records
At your registrar or DNS provider, add the TXT and CNAME records shown. Copy each name and value exactly.
- 05
Wait for verification
Adaptar checks your records and sets up HTTPS automatically. Status moves from Preparing DNS records to Checking DNS and HTTPS, then Connected.
While verification runs
DNS changes can take time to spread, and HTTPS setup takes a few minutes. Adaptar re-checks automatically, and you can use Check status anytime to re-run the check. The panel keeps working even while closed. If anything needs attention, the status shows Setup needs attention with the records to fix.
Disconnect a domain
To stop using a custom domain, disconnect it from the same panel. The custom address stops working: your Adaptar address stays online, and your website remains published.
